Google celebrates 14th birthday with Doodle cake



Google is celebrating its 14th birthday today with, you guessed it, a Doodle.
The Internet giant created an animated chocolate birthday cake covered with 14 candles. But the cake only stays that way for a second or two before the candles are blown out and pieces of the cake start disappearing.
Before long, just enough pieces are left on the multi-colored platter to make out the company's name.
Though September is Google's birth month, its birthday is technically Sept 4. That's when the company was incorporated back in 1998, although work on the Google search engine goes back to 1996. That's when Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, both Stanford PhD students, began working together.
